Heavenly Essence Qigong integrates the essence of the Daoist Qigong, Medical Qigong, Buddhist Qigong, Martial Qigong and Confucian Qigong and is one of the most comprehensive Qigong systems available. It is well known for its powerful healing effects, comprehensive theories, easy-to-follow practices, deep insights and successful life science experiments both in healing and in spiritual cultivation. The system reveals some of the most advanced Qigong cultivation methods through its easy-to-understand modern language and techniques and makes the esoteric ancient traditions accessible to the general public. Through the progressive formal study of the system students will learn how to expel sick Qi, nourish good Qi, project External Qi (Wai Qi) with dynamic Qigong exercises and perform Qi healing on self and on others with the Te Yi (Special Medicine) healing methods. Students will also learn the Daoist alchemical practices of Microcosmic Orbit, Macrocosmic Orbit, Embryonic Breathing and Nei Dan (Internal Alchemy) practices with the complete study of the system.
Qi Dragon Qigong Certificate Program is an extension of our systematic Formal Study Program and offers some additional intensive practice weekends for each formal study weekend in Level 1 and 2. The program is designed for students who wish to develop stronger discipline of the practice, to gain a broader knowledge of Qigong, to receive optimal healing benefits and to have more guidance in an intimate group setting. This intensive Qigong training includes some formal study instructional courses, intensive group practice, home practice and study, Q&A, tests, group discussion and presentation as well as Medical Qigong healing sessions. Students may study this Qigong for personal health and spiritual growth or for professional development. The Certificate Program is the prerequisite training for the Heavenly Essence Qigong Certified Instructor and Medical Qigong Practitioner programs.
For students who are only interested in the instrucational study without the intensive practice weekends, you may consider our Qigong Formal Study Program.
Level 1 full-year Qigong Certificate Program provides a special intensive Qigong training of one weekend a month.
Level 1 Certificate Program includes Level 1 II, III and Qigong Fasting Formal Study Instructional weekends and 9 Intensive Practice Weekends. L.Ac.s (Licensed Acupuncturists) and RNs (Registered Nurses) will receive 66 CEUs for the year’s study at no additional fees. Several of the Qigong Intensive Weekend practice days will be open to formal study students and the Instructional Weekends overlap with the Formal Study Program.
Students that have previously completed the Formal Study Level 1 Part II, III and Qigong Fasting before joining the certificate program must retake those weekend courses with the group to meet the required hours. However, you will receive a $100 retake credit for Level 1 Part II, III and Fasting Formal Study Instructional Courses completed prior to this program (limited to 1 credit per each unique course).

Course Contents and Dates
To achieve the best training results, Qi Dragon’s Level 1 Qigong Certificate Program training includes the formal study program’s instructional course weekends and the intensive practice weekends. Students are required to keep a home practice-log sheet and to do some home study assignments. Student presentation of reading materials and quarterly written tests of the three handouts are also part of the curriculum.

Prerequisite: Level 1 Part I Dynamic Qigong weekend
Note: There will be no Level 1 certificate program in 2014. Our next Level 1 group will start in 2015.
A certificate will be issued upon the completion of the required hours and the assigned projects. Planned absences must be submitted in advance in writing and receive the instructor’s approval. Students may make up for a maximum of 4 days (or 2 weekends ) by listening to the class audio recording and completing a Make-up Questionnaire Sheet before the next month’s workshop date (otherwise you are required to make up for the missed class by attending the next round of available corresponding workshop). It is your responsibility to make sure you obtain what you need for completing the make-up from the Program Facilitator. No Make-up is allowed once the next weekend workshop starts. Days missed beyond the 4 allowed days must be made up for by attending the next round of the corresponding workshop. Students may graduate and continue to the next level of study with incomplete hours but will need to complete all the hours and assigned projects before taking the Instructor Training Program and Medical Qigong Practitioner Program.

CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY: No refund for missed classes. Students may withdraw from the program provided that notice be made in writing and submitted at least 2 weeks prior to the start of each program’s quarter. Installment payments are non-refundable once paid. Refunds are given for upcoming quarters only. A processing fee of $150 applies if withdrawing from the program. The application fee $30 is not refundable for any reason. $500 deposit is non-refundable once you are accepted into the program but will be refunded in full if your application is not accepted or if the program is cancelled.

Bio of the Main Instructor:
Liping Zhu L.Ac., founder of Qi Dragon Healing Center and gold medalist in the 1996 International Martial Arts Tournament, received her Qigong master level training in China and is a certified instructor. She has received direct transmission and is a disciple of both the Heavenly Essence Qigong lineage and Tai Yi Swimming Dragon Sect. Mrs. Zhu has more than 20 years of experience in teaching Taichi and Qigong. She is the Qigong instructor at the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. In 2010, she became a Shuso in the Soto Zen tradition after a 10-year residency at the San Francisco Zen Center. Mrs. Zhu is an acupuncturist licensed in California and nationally and currently practices acupuncture, herbal medicine and Qigong healing in San Francisco.
