Thank you for being a loyal customer of Evergreen Herbs. We’d like to share some promising recent updates on the use of TCM in treating COVID-19.
As you may have read in the news, in late January, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) was introduced into the official COVID-19 treatment scheme in China and has since been widely applied in the fight against the virus. To date, in-vitro research has demonstrated anti-viral and anti-inflammation effects in several tested formulas. At the forefront among infected patients, the application of integrated TCM and western medicine has improved patient conditions and shortened hospital stays in preliminary reports. TCM is also prescribed at a large scale to support post-hospital care due to its effects on strengthening immunity.
Such upbeat news does not surprise us because TCM classics have provided ample evidence of how TCM successfully controlled epidemic diseases throughout Chinese history. Whereas we’re happy to see TCM share more spotlight in this fight against COVID-19, this does mean that the demand and cost of herbs have increased even more.
On that account, we reluctantly announce that there will be a price adjustment to take effect on April 1, 2020. For the past 4 years, we have been able to keep our prices constant. With the ever-increasing cost for raw materials, manufacturing, import tariff of Chinese products, transportation, and the recent surge in global demand, however, a pricing update has become necessary to maintain our sustainability.”
